If you get called for jury duty take a wireless equipped notebook.

After checking in grab a cube space by the doors - you'll have electricity there.
At the front of the room below and to the right of the TV are slips of paper
describing the WiFi they have available for jurors.

Currently:

SSID Lownsdale Square, 40 bit hex WEP, the key gets changed so grab a paper.

When I had jury duty last spring, it worked for about 2 minutes, then
was borked. I barely managed to connect to MetroFi from inside. But
on lunch I took the opportunity to tour around and do a little audit
of a few downtown ptp nodes.

I was in the jury room from 9:00 to 2:00. The network, including the wired
network on the south walls, went down once. I reported this to the silver
haired woman that runs the jury room. She got right on the phone and called
for it to be repaired. I went to the restroom and when I came out it was up
and running again. Stayed up for the rest of the day.

I had jury duty two weeks ago, and I had a steady connection. VPN
worked just fine as well. Nothing like sitting in a room in a
basement for hours...
