I think this is because you're receiving your PTC mail as a "digest"
--- the mailing list management software gathers up messages and sends
them all in a bunch. But this inevitably means some delay in
receiving messages. If you visit the 'listinfo' link included at the
top of your digest, I think there will be a way for you to ask to
receive each message immediately.

Well, FIRST LAST's complaint is valid in that we only just announced
it last night. But then, the weekly happens just about every week at
the same time. The only thing that changes is where we convene and
that *occasionally* it is cancelled. *Almost always* we have a hard
time deciding where we should hold it, and the indecision is what is
responsible for the late notices. Mostly, weekly meetings are for
socializing though and only minor items of business get handled. The
monthly meeting (next wednesday at the Urban Grind, mark your
calendars!) is where bigger, broader organizational issues are
discussed.

I would suggest that digest mode on the general mailing list is
probably not necessary. The volume of traffic is pretty
inconsequential these days, too low to warrant the chunking and
consequent delay of digest mode.

If FIRST LAST starts coming to meetings, maybe we can saddle him with
the job of sending out announcements. We are always looking for
energetic volunteers. ;-)
